Evelina always knew magic. Ever since she was a little girl she was able to heal wounds and broken bones without breaking a sweat, a healer, just like her mother. Working in the high school from which she graduated presented her with the perfect opportunity to use her gift to help people. Her peaceful life is interrupted when her former college roommate arrives back in town with a dark shadow in tow. As time passed, Evelina would realize that her magic can be used for more than fixing sprained ankles, and would lead her down a path that would shape the rest of her life.


Nikki, a winner of the 2015 National Novel Writing Month, studied Business Management at Saint Peter’s University, but her passion lies in writing. She grew up in Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, a small town, not unlike the town in which Damon and Evelina live. A lover of music, Nikki played the flute, the bass flute and a total of 3 songs on the guitar. Her musical tastes range from classical music to heavy metal. Many pop punk bands influenced this novel with her fantastic lyrics and inspired instrumentation. During her years in secondary school, Nikki developed a love of ancient history, particularly the Trojan War, this love of history expanded to Tudor times and World War II. An avid reader herself, Nikki can usually be found with her nose in a book or her eyes glued to her Kindle. Preferring the feel and smell of a good book, she tends to use her Kindle when she is on the go. A proud Hufflepuff, Nikki is a Trekkie who also enjoys the wonderful world in a galaxy far, far away, and spends a few hours a week playing Magic the Gathering with her friends.
