本套教材共四冊，是面向高中英語水準以上的學生而編寫的強化閱讀教程。本套書的詞彙量起點為最基礎的3000個單詞，通過電腦程式篩選，以英國國家語料庫最常用詞彙清單的前11部分為基準，每冊書增加2000個新詞，四冊書的詞彙覆蓋量達到11000。每冊各包含十個單元，每單元由Focuson、TextA和TextB三部分組成。本書幫助學生掌握第3000~5000的兩千詞彙量；Focuson板塊主要聚焦構詞法，加深學生對構詞法規律的認知。
